Samuel Schumer joined Blueprint in 2024, after serving as Blueprint’s primary outside counsel for several years. As General Counsel, Sam provides oversight and management of all legal and strategic aspects of Blueprint’s operations and governance. Prior to joining Blueprint, Sam spent fifteen years in private practice, where he most recently served as a partner at a mid-size law firm in Chicago with a primary focus in commercial real estate and finance. Throughout his career, Sam has been repeatedly recognized by Super Lawyers and Leading Lawyers on account of his high degree of peer recognition and professional achievement within the legal industry.
Sam obtained his B.A from the University of Colorado and his J.D from the University of Illinois Chicago School of Law, and he is licensed to practice law in the State of Illinois, the United States District Court for the Northern District of Illinois, and the United States Court of Appeals for the Seventh Circuit.
Sam lives in Chicago’s Lakeview neighborhood with his wife, son, and daughter, and when out of the office, he can most likely be found on the golf course or within the friendly confines of Wrigley Field.
